The Soldier's Wife was inspired by a very old antique quilt that I saw. I had never seen this setting before and while it looks like the blocks are on point, it is actually a straight set quilt! It is a terrific two-color quilt and would look awesome in any colors you may like. I have been reading a lot of quilt history of late, and named this quilt for the many wives (then & now) who waited for their husbands to return from the war, all the while not knowing what was happening to them. While waiting for word, these women worked on quilts to busy their minds, perhaps on a quilt just like this one!
This quilt measures approximately 83" x 83".
