My Cotton Thimble Miniature convenience fabric is truly one of a kind. I designed it directly from one of the antique quilts I own, which has hundred of tiny thimbles, all cut and pieced by hand! Many of the fabrics in the Thimble prints came from that quilt, as well as other new prints, and from past collections.
The size of each thimble is 1.5 inches wide at the bottom, 3/4 inches wide at the top and 1.5 inches tall. Very, very small....and oh so wonderful!! Look at the photo above showing the spool of thread for size reference.
Why are my convenience fabric prints so popular? Because there are so many fabrics in every print. I create my convenience fabrics as scrappy as if I actually pieced them myself. When we're piecing scrappy quilts, the more prints the better, right?! In the old days, prints like this just didn't have a wide variety of prints in them. The photos above of the Cotton Thimble fabrics are showing different areas of the fabric to show the wide variety of prints.
