Walnut Hollow pattern

Walnut Hollow is a wonderful scrappy quilt featuring just two blocks.  Actually, they are two very similar blocks.  The blocks feature a Cat's Cradle unit, which when traditionally pieced, was rather difficult because of working with bias edges.  Instead, the technique I use for the Cat's Cradle units is to make them larger and trim them to size using (Deb Tucker's) Tucker Trimmer 1.  The ruler is not terribly expensive and can be used to trim other units - Half Square Triangles, Quarter Square Triangles and Triple Square Triangles.  Needless to say, it has many uses.  Trimming the units isn't hard at all, and I have step by step graphics and photos in the pattern to guide you.

Tucker Trimmer 1 is available at your LQS or right here on my website, HeartspunQuilts.com, under Notions.

While I made my Walnut Hollow out of Halloween fabrics, it would look terrific in any three color combination.  Quilt size is 63 x 72.
